Le Supermarche (The Super Market)
Today we went to the Open-Aire Market to do some shopping with Sisters Christensen and Seiter. They are giving gifts to a local orphanage and needed to buy clothes for 47 young girls. We had quite the experience trying to match jeans with the waist and hip sizes of these girls (we only had the measurements in inches on a list of paper). When you try to buy enough jeans and skirts and blouses and flip flops for 47 people at one or two vendors, you tend to attract a crowd of more vendors who want in on the selling. So, we had fun putting on our serious faces and saying "Non, Merci." and avoiding eye contact with others. You have to be serious about this bargaining and buying in the marche.

We were wary of taking pictures there. One, because you're not allowed to take pictures in public and two because we were already getting a lot of attention as it was, it would have been easy for someone to see us take out a camera.
BUT, we tried to anyway. At the end of our adventure, our last stop was to buy sandals and while we were waiting in the rain, we decided to get creative with our picture taking. You have to be very nonchalant about these things even though you pull a shiny silver object out of your bag. So we got a few pictures before the little boys selling bags started staring at us too long.
